Summer Gorder
Summer Gorder began her pursuits in sustainable design and construction during her architectural studies at the University of Oregon. Over the last ten years, she has acquired proficient Green Design experience on a local and global scale. In Sienna Architects' Seattle and Portland offices she worked on a local community project pursuing the Living Building Challenge, and worked on Dubai's first LEED Neighborhood Development Project. With a distinct acumen in LEED 2009 and a love for teaching, she has developed a unique brand of LEED education that has received a wide range of acclaim. She has applied that experience to give back to the community by running the Sustainability and Equity Committee for the Oregon Association of Entrepreneurs to bridge the gap between minority and small emerging business and the growing green market by leveraging resources with other City organizations. She also accepted her nomination to join the Board of Directors for the Portland AIA to spread those efforts. Founding ecoREAL was a culmination of that passion for people and experience in sustainable building.
